    My very first LDR

Hi everyone, this is my 1st LDR and I was lucky enough to stumble upon this forum in my search of advice in dealing with this new situation to me. I have never been in a LDR before but I really like the guy im talking with. He is super handsome and very nice to me. He is from London and I already want to see him. I have started the process to get my passport and as long as things work out, I would like to go visit him this Spring/Summer. A lot of my friends are doubtful the relationship will work but I am think they are wrong. I know the relationship is somewhat new but when your heart tells you he is the one, well I tend to listen to my heart. Any advice anyone has would be great! Also I found this great blog about a girl who lives in Spain and her Marine boyfriend who lives here in the US. It's so romantic. I thought I would share with the community here. (It seems I cant post the link yet due to my postcount =( I think her story is very inspiring for anyone dealing with a LDR. I look forward to meeting everyone and cant wait to share my stories with you. Cheers!

Reminds me of when I first found this site right at the beginning of my new LDR with my SO. It took me a while to tell even a close friend of what I was doing and that I was planning on seeing him. People were scared for me and doubtful, but I stuck I my heart. I never had doubts about him and the relationship. If it's what you want and if it feels right, then you should totally continue on to see what can come out of it for you. Good or bad. Hopefully just good. Good luck with everything =]

If you are from the USA and going to see him in UK, you most likely don't need a visa. You are allowed to visit there for up to six months as a US citizen with only your USA passport. I looked into UK last year, we had thought of meeting in London but instead went to Dublin, I have never had an issue in Heathrow with only my USA passport either.

Welcome here, and good luck on your journey
I made love to him only twice, she thought and looked at the man laying asleep beside her. And yet still it is as if we have been together forever, as if he has always known my life, my soul, my body, my light, my pain

Hey, welcome to LFAD I have never been in LDR before either (and I think I will never be again, since I do not want any other relationship except this ) I am in LDR for over two years and it works even though many people were - and some still are - doubtful. So go with your heart and do not care about others Good luck with everything

to the group! I'm in my first and should be only, LDR as well. My SO and I knew each other for years and dated CD for a year as well. Being LD has it's challenges but it's also very rewarding! There are so many things you learn and you're less likely to take things for granted. Good luck with everything and follow your heart!

When we love, it isn't because the person's perfect, it's because we learn to see an imperfect person perfectly.

True love does not worry about the distance between, for the heart and soul travels through one's words

When two people are meant for each other, no time is too long, no distance is too far, and no one can ever tear them apart.

1 universe, 9 planets, 7 continents, 194 countries, 50 states and 10 provinces...and I had the privilege to meet you.

                      Hey!

I was very pleased when I found this forum too!

I always get taunts about how it may never work, or our differences are huge.

My Jose doesn't speak English well, so you could imagine it may seem difficult. But I just love him! I know he will try his best for me too.
You can take people's advice but don't let it be the final decision.

Welcome! I hope everything works out for you
