    Hello from England

Hey everyone! I am new to this so please bare with me.
My name is Reenal, aged 20. I am from London and my religion is Hindu Brahmin, and I fell in love with Jose' (also known as Pepe) who is 23. He is Cuban, who has lived in Spain a very young age. We are in a LDR for just over three months.

Although we are 1,000 miles away, every time I Skype him, i get a really good heat energy and feeling. I think about him every day and he loves me as much as i love him. However, i am just afraid about how my parents may react in the future, if it comes to the point of marriage. I am very happy to be with him as he takes my mind and heart completely.

People have told me, long distance doesn't work, and you'd never really know who the person is on the other side of the screen. Nevertheless, it has made me do stupid things like split up with him, but i found it a heartache, and managed to get back with him straightaway.

It may or may not be the case, but I have faith in him

Planning to meet personally in Spain on the 16th June 2014

        Welcome
I made love to him only twice, she thought and looked at the man laying asleep beside her. And yet still it is as if we have been together forever, as if he has always known my life, my soul, my body, my light, my pain

Welcome to the forum. There are folks here that have closed the distance and even married, so you will find that an LDR can work with love and commitment. You are right that an LDR can make you do crazy things, but don't break up with someone just because of the distance. Spend your effort on finding ways to get connected. Read articles on the forum here and on the website lovingfromadistance.com. Focus on the positives. It can work.

When we love, it isn't because the person's perfect, it's because we learn to see an imperfect person perfectly.

True love does not worry about the distance between, for the heart and soul travels through one's words

When two people are meant for each other, no time is too long, no distance is too far, and no one can ever tear them apart.

1 universe, 9 planets, 7 continents, 194 countries, 50 states and 10 provinces...and I had the privilege to meet you.

Welcome There a lot of skeptics out there but this community just goes to prove them wrong. LDRs take just as much effort as close distance relationships if not more. Trust your gut and don't let what other people say about it deter you. As for your parents, try and ease them into it. Maybe once you two have been together long enough and once they've had a chance to get to know him they'll feel differently.
“The ties that binds us are sometimes impossible to explain. They connect us even after it seems like the ties should be broken. Some bonds defy distance and time and logic; Because some ties are simply… meant to be.” - Grey’s Anatomy
