Hey everybody!
I've been here before (back when my relationship became a long distance one) but I left for quite a while. Quick update: Back in February of 2011 I met someone and we were out as a lesbian couple. We lived close and were in High School together. I graduated High School and went to college locally so there were still not as many problems (a few since my partner's parents weren't so keen on us being together). In August of 2012, my partner graduated High School and moved to Pomona to get away from the parental problems. In January of 2013 I had to end it because we had started to have some issues. I was always traveling there, my partner had no confidence or motivation to do anything for themselves, etc. In August of 2013, he came out to me as transgender. I started to believe that this was the reason he wasn't confident enough to do anything - he never fully felt like himself. I had been trying to convince a man that he looked beautiful in a dress for two years, and no wonder it wasn't working. We became friends, but had too much chemistry and called that off. We weren't ready for a relationship (still too invested in ourselves for anything to work out). In November of 2013, we started to date again. Still long distance, I traveled there but sometimes he would pay. His confidence was through the roof and things had started to get better. As things continued to get better, we started to seriously consider getting back together. He asked me out officially on January 1st, 2014. Technically we have been a couple for two years, but dating a trans person has been something to get used to. It doesn't help that it is long distance. We may see each other more than most long distance couples and we may be closer than most get to be, but it doesn't stop it from being hard.
So hello to everybody! Glad I'm back!
