    Hello everyone :)

Hey guys. I'm Jane. I'm 21 and have been in a LDR with my Dutchman for 3 yrs nearly (our third year as a couple will be 17th Oct).

We first met online in May/June 2010, but then gradually moved from being really close (pretty much best friends) to a couple after a year and a half. We've only really been able to see eachother 4 times in the amount of time we've been in a relationship, but our 5th meeting will be on his 21st birthday in June! Which I'm pretty excited about as we've never got to physically share the other's birthday together due to his past work commitments. We've had some really tough patches along the way, but through it all we've kept each other strong. Although he speaks fluent English, and has known English for about 12years - I decided that learning Dutch would bring us closer and let us have another way of communicating when we need more privacy or just for the fun of it! Anyway, we're hoping within the next year we'll be able to close the distance and make being together permanent - which is what we've been wanting for the whole duration of our LDR.

But yeah, enough rambling from me! Hi, everyone! I'm glad to be here. At least if I have anything on my mind, or I'm worried about being anxious over the distance (as I have been in the past) then at least I know there's many people going through the exact same things as me and my love. I hope to be active and to make friends :3

Btw you can call me Janey if you like ^_^ it's less formal than Jane heh.

    See you guys around!

        Thank you both!

Suuz: Indeed! My SO has been quite impressed with my learning so far. Only been learning Dutch for about 2 months, and already I've got the pronunciation down for a lot of things and my comprehension and understanding of the language is quite proficient in terms of grammar. I'm not too confident with my conversing abilities yet but that'll come in time

Hi Janey welcome to the community!
Its hard growing up without a father, but its easy when you have a fantastic mother who plays both roles.
