Um hi everyone, my name is Genai. I'm very new to forums and seeking advice or help, so I'm a little anxious; however, I look forward to posting in the boards and hearing all of your responses.
A little about myself: I am a grad student enrolled in an online masters program for healthcare management. Even though the program is online, it has to be completed in my current state because of the restrictions for the final semester internship. I've still got another year and a half to go. I also work full time in a finance department at a hospital. And I live with a female roommate and my cat.
A little about my situation: I've been dating my best friend for the past six months now. He's two years older than I am. He currently lives in Louisiana and works as the General Manager-in-training at a restaurant. We first met in July 2012 when I messaged him on okcupid. He lived within 20 minutes of me at the time because of work as a contractor, and we spent practically the entire summer together. At the time, he was just my best friend, and we would always hang out and do fun things together. Then we found out that his work was taking him out of state, and on the night before he left, we became...intimate. Basically, he was my "first," if you get what I mean. Even after he left though, our friendship flourished. We always spoke on the phone, and we were each other's support system. This past new years he came to visit me for the first time in two years, and I found out that he'd been in love with me practically since he left maryland. I did a lot of soul searching and realized I'm in love with him too. Since then, we've been trying the whole LDR thing.
