Hi all! I have been lurking on and off for quite a while and I thought it was time to introduce myself.
My name is Ashley and I met a handsome Irishman on a dating site in the winter of 2015. We talked for 6 months and I traveled to Dublin in July last year to meet and it was like an extended first date (with the exception of meeting his entire family!). He came to Chicago in October and handled a long family dinner, where my siblings drank too much and shared too many personal details about themselves, like a champ. I then spent Christmas in Dublin and it was perfect.
We are spending 2017 traveling together to new places and simultaneously trying to close the distance (I am moving to Dublin). Needless to say, I am VERY thankful for this forum and the "Closing the Distance" thread as this is all making me a little overwhelmed. If nothing else, at least I know I am not alone in this endeavor!
