    Guten Tag from Germany

    Hello everybody
My name is Michelle, I'm 17 years old and I'm from Germany. I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. I've been a member of this amazing website for a while but I never found the time to read through this lovely forum.
Well...what is the reason why I am here? The simple reason is my boyfriend, who lives 5,000 miles away from me in Seattle, Wa, USA. And me? I'm living near Dortmund, Germany. Great, huh?
We meet during my exchange year and we are a happy couple for a year now.
Mh what could I say about myself, that might be interesting to any of you guys? Well, I'm truly and deeply in love with the USA and I'm plannign to move there as soon as possible (mainly because of my boyfriend now haha). But this won't happen until after college, and I'll be donewith college in like...2017 -.-
Currently, I'm a student in 12th grade, only 1 1/2 more years to go (in Germany there are 13 years of school) and then I'll finally be off to college.
I'm planning to major in Theatre- and Mediastudies, because I want to become a journalist.
My hobbies are reading, writing, my pets (I have a cute dog and two adorable gerbils) and ...oh wow I don't have any other hobbies
I have never been the social butterfly and I enjoy being alone. But sometimes I have the big urge to go out clubbing with my friends. German friends, to be specific.
Because my real and true friends are american.
My heart is in the US and it will always be there....
Oh and I love traveling (I have been to 11 countries so far )
Well, I guess that was everythign interesting about me...any questions? Go for it...

Of course I don't mind sharing
In Germany university is for free, and I can't afford an american college for thousands of dollars a semester Therefore, I need to stay here for university....

              Hi welcome.
Many universities seem to offer that you can study overseas for a semester... (at least universities in Denmark.) As long as the university is high ranked among worldwide universities. And among those there's a lot of American ones.
Which I'm looking forward to in 2012... where I can study in Japan.

I hope my universitiy offers it too. I know for sure that there is the possibilty to do an internship for 4 weeks abroad, but I don't know if it'd be possible to go all the way to Seattle

Why not?! Seattle is a city with loads of companies and internship opportunities. I don't know what your field is but there's...Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Starbucks...just to name a few!

Haha Starbucks would be funny, since my SO is working there too...No doubt that there are many great companies to internship at but I actually meant that I'm not sure if my university lets us do internships outside Europe...If there is the possibilty to go to the U.S. I would try everything to get something in Seattle...Let's hope so

As far as I know you can study anywhere you want in the States as far as you can afford it (which is a hell lot of money) and they take you.
You have to apply like everyone else and your university doesnt even have to be in any kind of partnership with the other university but then you have to organize it all yourself. ^^

And then I have to pay it all as well. But if it's a partnership between those two univeristies it'd be a lot cheaper...and that's the thing: I can't even afford one semester of college in the U.S...that's why I am hoping for the internship or a partner college and the opportuity for a semester abroad....
