Hello all,
(>.> after typing all this out I realize its a bit much and probably just a bit long winded, so sorry for that but I just like to talk sometimes haha so heres a warning!)
I actually happened to come across this site while just casually using StumbleUpon and I can honestly say that it has been perhaps the best stumbling I've had yet!
Haven't gotten to using the site much outside of looking at the "Over 90 Things" list, and well I can definitely say I look forward to being here!
I find myself in a relationship spanning the distance of some 8300 miles! I am from the US, specifically Michigan, and she's from New Zealand. We started off relatively recently, just about a week ago, but we had been friends for a number of months prior to that. Ended up meeting on a music board we both posted on, but never spoke much there. I began speaking to her earlier this year as I was going through some relatively painful things with a girl at the time and she offered me an open ear and when I needed it good advice. I ended up ending the bad relationship I was in, and from then on I realized I felt as if I had only ended up talking to her because she helped me through the bad stuff I was just going through, and so I made it a point to talk to her more and more until our friendship had really started to blossom. It wasn't long after that I ended up realizing that I started to like her more than as friends, but ended up keeping it quiet from her - but ended up telling a mutual friend of ours about it and well that secret wasn't kept for long.
She asked me about it and I admitted to it, and it was decided that friends was best due to a number of circumstances at the time.
But as luck or well life would have it, this past week I get a text message from a friend of mine asking when I got home from work. I told 'em when and got back a response of "Oh well =D She was just wondering." So I got all kinda like nervous - because I had an idea of what was going on, but I wasn't sure haha. Ended up busting my butt to get out of work early and when I got home she and I got to talking, and well
My suspicions had been correct!
She liked me too and had needed time to figure out what she had wanted to do, and well she had it figured out now so we then decided to give things a whirl
And well I know it hasn't been long, and I've not experienced the pains of LDRs compared to those who've been together for much longer, but I thought it a good idea to come here and see how other peoples experiences have gone with LDRs!
