Hey everyone!
I'm Roosa, a 19-year-old student from Finland (yes, it's cold here). My boyfriend Chris, 26, is originally from England but is currently living in Hong Kong. We met in 2008 when I left an ad on penpal site and he answered me. I think he is a bit embarrassed about the way we met so he usually just says we met over the Internet but I find it quite sweet. Soon after that we started to talk on Facebook and later on MSN. We became best friends, spending hours talking to each other every and finally decided to meet 5 months ago. He visited me in June and that was the point when our friendship developed into something more even though we had had feelings for quite a long time already. He visited me also in September when I had just moved to a city 600 km (372 miles) away from my home town. I'm going to visit him and his family (oh my..) in two weeks' time so I'm very excited and nervous at the moment.
I study at the university and he works as a commercial pilot. We met when he was still in training in Australia. We always try to talk even when he is staying in hotels around the world. I think I have become quite good at counting the time differences even though I'm terrible at maths. I also have a huge collection of postcards from around the world.. His job is not as luxurious as it sounds: in fact it's hard work trying to cope with the lack of sleep (caffeine!) and being away from home for 4 days at time but at least it enables us to meet each other more often.
So I just want to say that I'm glad to be on here, around people who know how it feels to miss someone so much!
