    Here I am. Now What?

I thought I would give a quick intro.

I live in Virginia. My SO lives in Okinawa and will be there for the next two years.

I am 37 and he is 32. Thank God for technology.

I just spent a weekend with him in CA two weekends ago.

He has only been back to Oki for two days.

I know it's going to be a long two years and it will test everything we thought we knew about ourselves but we are giving it a chance.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

I'm thinking technology has allowed all of us to be in a relationship that otherwise would be impossible, especially in international LDRs.
    Anyway, WELCOME

Welcome to LFAD! Now what? You just go with it. LDR's can be hard, but they're far from impossible, especially with forums like this that are full of advice and ideas! Good luck.

Welcome to the forums And yes, technology makes it all better. My SO and I were in a LDR back in 1997 and it was horrible, waiting for letters and having to use calling cards because "unlimited long distance" did not quite exist yet! We just celebrated our one year anniversary, so I know it seems overwhelming but take it one day at a time!

I'm new here as well, my SO and I will also be apart for two year without him being close enough for comfort. 2 years is hard to think about..but I think we can do it
