    complete and utter newbie....

Seems as though I am being a newbie at everything these days....

My boyfriend and I have been going out since 6th June 2009. throughout then we have had our battles, probably more than any other. I am 17 (just turned) and he is 18, almost 19.
The start of our relationship, i was very insecure. Many times i would be very hard-on at him, then in the morning very apologetic. He has always been there for me and i cant thank him enough for that.
We have had to deal with alot of things. One of these things was his ex, who is now best friends with him. she has tried to sabotage our relationship about 6 times now, and still is hard at it even with the distance.

also, on february 5th, 2011, my boyfriend's dad passed away. Was a shock to everyone, as his family also let me in, which was so kind of them as my family has alot of issues going on. Since then we have been rocky (although not as rocky now), but we have got stronger through time and healing.

On september 13th, day before my birthday, he left for university. He is now 216 miles away, and the cheapest train ticket is about 60 quid return. That plus a hotel will amount to around 100 quid. If I was to visit i would have to plan a month in advance, to get a bus called "megabus", which costs all of 16 quid return, which is much cheaper!

in 2 years time i will (hopefully!) be going to a university in London. However, this means that the distance will be that much harder. we will be spending 1-2 years with both of us at uni.

We will finally be able to close the long distance relationship at the end of 2014, and we will hopefully meet every half term. However it proves somewhat of a difficulty as i have to revise for A levels and he has alot of work to be doing too.

Thats basically the story so far.... we are coping by texting each other as much as we can, and also i will start writing to him by hand. It is hard sometimes though, when he has his new friends and wont text....

Much love to everyone in LDRs. Not in this alone

Distance is always hard, but can just think of it as being something you need to do since it is for school. You can still stay in touch, and even if he isn't texting you as much as you would like you can always set up Skype dates or certain times of the week where you make sure you make time for one another. My SO and I don't get to text as much now that we are both in school and also with work, but in the evenings we usually get a chance to talk and we Skype or watch a movie together or something like once a week.

Great thing about facebook until they change it.. your private messages can be sent as text to a phone.. this may be your way around international rates.. just a thought.

            best of luck!! and welcome!

Just came to say welcome, and I really wish you guys the best.
Stay positive! Me and my SO´s relationship is almost as disaster-ridden as yours, but the best thing to do is just keep thinking that you WILL get through the distance, and one day, every struggle will be worth it
