What did you say to people who kept asking "why haven't you met yet?" and didn't believe in your patience?

Hmm well it's been 7 years since i've known him, we'll be meeting this summer =D . Our reason for not meeting yet is school and being too young to start off with, but now we're older we can travel to meet each other and i'm going to meet him in August =D .

Thank you. All of your input makes me feel better. We met online 10 months ago and have been talking on the phone every single day, several times a day since. It's not the first time I have been in an LDR, but it is the first time I have waited so long to meet someone.

8 months for us. It was a long wait. We met when we were financially able to... international travel is very painful to the wallet. O_O

We met in person 2 years after we first met, which was about 4.5 months after we started dating. We're both full time college students, so it's hard to find the time and the money to visit. The waiting sucked, but I could have waited a lot longer. He's worth it ^^

We met 5 years after we started talking, and were in love all that time. It just took as a long time because we were very young, and didn't truly believe we could make it work. Canada seemed very far away from Australia! But we agree it wasn't the right time earlier and are both glad we waited.

No one asked me that actually. We didn't officially start dating until we met in person, but all my family and friends knew about us and supported me, they just knew that it was a big step for us to take and that it was prohibitively expensive! People tended to ask me "Why doesn't he come here first?" instead.
Happily married to the little Canadian boy I never thought I'd meet in person

One month :P. We knew each other about 6 or 7 months before we started dating. A $50 bus ticket isn't much of an expense XP. We were just that lucky. I would've waited longer for that dork.

We met each other in person around two months after we met online It actually wasn't something that took elaborate planning. For spring break he went to visit his sister who lives around four hours away from me. He bought two tickets to see a show, but his friend backed out at the last minute, so I told him I would go with him instead since it was only a two hour drive We became official the day after we met in person

I realize other people do not have it so easy. We never really thought we would be able to meet each other, but that one trip made everything else seem possible
