I would say it is harder to be CD first. The longer you are CD before you are LD will make it even harder. In my case we were CD for about 1 and a half years before we had to go LD. It was incredibly hard being we went from seeing each other almost everyday to a webcam being as close as we could get. But even if you are CD first, you get used to it... it just takes longer to adjust.
