    When do you celebrate Christmas?

I thought about this today after Andy and I Skyped with his parents; here in Finland we have Santa coming over on the 24th of Dec and we give all the presents and spend the evening together with family eating and laughing. Usually everyone spends Christmas and Boxing day visiting other relatives, going to graves etc whereas in Britain the Christmas eve is just an ordinary day and you don't give any gifts until Christmas day.

So my question to you is:

    When/how do you celebrate Christmas?

We normally celebrate Christmas eve with other relatives go travel that day for a Christmas party, exchange gifts and such. And then on Christmas day at home with just close immediate family.
My SO goes on holiday for a few days around this time, before Christmas, and comes back after.

then we go on webcam and have our own little Christmas lol
    I love you Nathan <3

I don't really do anything for Christmas eve except be with the family and then on Christmas day, I'm like a little kid cause I wake up early, sneak a look in the living room at the pressies and then what I do is I spend the day again with the family I don't tend to do much other than that.

Now that we are old and have a baby, presents from us/friends on Christmas Eve, and Santa will hopefully come on Christmas morning if Nate has been good this year.

          24th!

In Germany and in Poland Santa Claus comes on Christmas eve, so we celebrate on the 24th. I think the only difference might be that in Germany traditionally you go to church before you eat and then open presents and in Poland you go to church at midnight. But then maybe they go to church in the afternoon as well, who knows, Poles love the church.

With my family we'd usually visit my grandparents or have them over either on the 25th or 26th. This year my brother's inviting everyone to his place on the 25th and as a surprise for them, he'll have me on skype at dinner with them (YAY - I can't wait to see my mum and grandparents, even if it's only via webcam).
We're going to the Tatra mountains the day after Christmas with my boyfriend, his mum and her boyfriend, to avoid their family And also for my boyfriend to go skiing.

Być tam, zawsze tam, gdzie Ty.

I celebrate Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the family and with my mom's side on Christmas Day. We all live in MD and one side is Irish Catholic, the other Italian Catholic so Christmas and Easter are a HUGE deal. I go to midnight Mass with my parents and my brother and sister-in-law join us every other year. They trade off going to church with our family and her family each year. Dan and I exchange gifts a few days before Christmas. Usually he drives up to my parent's house but I might go to his house this year.

At home, my family always has a talent show on Christmas Eve. We celebrate how mediocre we are at everything Then at night we each open one present. Recently though, because my mom loves presents so much, we end up opening 3 each Christmas morning, the kids always wake up early and we're allowed to open our stockings before my mom gets up. My mom put coal in our stockings EVERY SINGLE YEAR. She'd always say "well, guess you weren't THAT good" We never had big Christmas dinners because my mom was too tired.

Here in CR, my SO just told me that they celebrate on the 24th. You have your Christmas dinner on the 24th and the kids stay up until midnight when they can open presents that the Baby Jesus (not Santa) brought them.

I've always done it we get to open on gift on christmas eve and then the rest on christmas. so I guess you could say i celebrate christmas on the 25th of december. My ex from chile they open all of their gifts on the 24th and spend the 25th with family partying and eating tons of food all day long.

In Singapore we had a big party on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day with my mother's family, and opened all our presents together during that party. The other day, I spent with just my parents and brother.

It's usually split, Christmas eve at my dad's side, christmas day at with mom's side, or visa versa, what they do when I go decide to spend it with my SO, well, there will be hell to pay I'm sure. My parents are control freaks.

On Christmas Eve, we usually go to church and out for dinner and open one or two gifts. Then on Christmas day we get up early and open the rest of our gifts and my grandmothers come over for Christmas dinner =) This year my boyfriend is flying in on Christmas and we're so excited!!!!

We have family/friends over on Christmas Eve (Jay and I are hosting this year for the first time, for our first Christmas together in the same place) starting in late afternoon to late evening. Then Christmas morning we open presents, have a nice breakfast together (immediate family only) and lay around in our pajamas all day.
