Some of you have seen my post about me and my LDR best friend of 12 years finally giving it a shot. Well, this weekend we planned our first 3 day weekend. April 27th I'm going to meet my girl for the first time in over a decade of knowing her. The plane ticket is bought.
It's crazy. I'm nervous. She's nervous. We built up this fairy tale we probably will never live up to. If it goes well though, I'm spending my birthday week with her(July) and in turn she's spending a week with me a few months after that(oct). If it goes badly, I might lose a best friend, because how do you step back from that?
So for the next two months, I get to sit here and ponder how this is going to go down. I feel like a female. Us guys are supposed to have all their emotions together, and I do most always, but not for this. I'm relatively sure I have the "swag" required to make an excellent impression. I'm pretty confident in life and forward thinking. That's not stopping me from being scared shitless anyway. Just breathe, she always tells me.

My advice to you (unsolicited as it is, sorry!) would be to try not to overthink the matter or have expectations either way. I know it's easier said than done, but I found that doing these things really helped me in the run-up to meeting my SO. That's enough from me though; all that's left to say is I wish you the very best of luck with your first weekend together, and I hope you have a wonderful time.
Enjoy the moments! If she has been your LDR friend for over a decade, then it sounds like a LDR relationship would come naturally. Like you said, just keep breathing and two months will fly by before you know it.
