    Country apart :(

I found this site recently and I'm hoping this will be a good support site, Since no one I know is in a LDR. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Amanda, I'm 20 years old, from this here United States, in NY and in a LDR with an Englishman, who is obviously 4,000 miles away in England, he's 25 years old, soon to be 26 and that I've known for almost 7 years. Yes, we have meet more than a few times before anyone asks. I was just wondering if there was anyone on this site that also has someone across the pond? Sorry if I missed posts, I'm on my iPhone. >_< But he was last here in January of this year and I dunno, right now I am just missing my Brit terrible

I'm also an American missing a Brit. British men are so lovely, aren't they? <3 If only the pond really were just a pond... He was last here in February but I'm going to see him again in the summer (late July-ish). As our men might say, "Keep Calm & Carry On". Keeping calm here would be remembering that the distance isn't permanent. Do you have any plans for visiting again? Or for closing the distance? Carrying on would be trying to keep things as normal as possible. Go on skype dates often, write to each other as much as you can, keep each other updated on your lives, watch videos on the internet together, play games together. The main site has a huge list of ideas for what to do while in an LDR.

There's a lot of people dating US-UK here and everyone, regardless of distance, is very helpful and kind. You chose a great place to stop by. Welcome!

I do like hearing other couples in the whole US-UK LDR, it just gives me inspiration, and makes me feel less crazy. That there are others doing this. But welcome to the site! Your not alone, and it's possible. But yeah... missing my baby....
      I love you Nathan <3

Thanks for posting this. My Britt is in the U.S. so it's also across the pond, missing her like crazy

In my case I am the end across the pond and my guy is an American living in CA. more than 5000 miles away.
          Welcome to the forum!
You can do it. I miss him like crazy too. The best tuphing to do is to keep busy and talk/write as much as possible. Have Skype dates and fun with each other. Then time will go faster.

We're no longer looking across a pond... I just wanted to say Hi, Welcome to the forums!
Happily married to the little Canadian boy I never thought I'd meet in person

I am 23, my SO is 25, we closed the distance and got married, but we were in an international long distance relationship as well. from Brazil to Germany. now I moved to Germany with him. we are more than 3 years together.

there are many people here also in international relationships. many. it is hard, but it is doable. *hugs*

My SO and I are in different countries, separated by a body of water too... admittedly it's not quite as wide as the pond though! Welcome to LFAD, I'm sure you'll find a lot of the support you're searching for here (I sure have done)
