    question about visas ?

I recently got a job for the Apple store in Sweden and I have until August to get there.
It's great because my SO is going to be studying in Sweden and we'll be able to see each other and stuff.

I have a passport, but I keep on hearing stuff about visas and work permits ?
Can someone explain this to me and how do I go about getting it?

    Is it hard to get?

    Start with this site: https://www.globalvisas.com/sweden_v...rk_permit.html

A good thing is just to visit Sweden's government web site and inquire about visas that way, as you know you'll be getting the right information from the source directly.

^good advice right here. Sweden will have their own government immigration website which will outline all the different visa options. I would really make sure you are getting the right visa/know for sure if you don't need one because if you end up at the border and they don't let you in and you say 'but I thought i didnt need a visa!" they will just turn you around and send you back where you came from.

Visa information is very complicated, there is soooo much to know and sort through, I know my BF has become a member of a forum dedicated to expats. You could probably get some more informed advice on Swedish visas from a forum/support group tailored to it if you do a quick google search for one.

      good luck

Where are you from? That plays a big part about how much paperwork, red tape and other things you'll have to jump through.

If you are an EU national, you don't need a visa or anything to live and work in Sweden. You may need to fill out some forms, but nothing major.

I was born in California. My father and mom are both German and French?

As in, born in Germany and/or France? Did they confer EU citizenship to you?
