My SO needs his space more than most when he sleeps, so he has to roll all the way to the other side of the bed and lie facing away from me. When we first started sharing a bed it used to make me feel kind of rejected because I'm the complete opposite. I came to understand in time that it wasn't at all personal though, so now we'll cuddle for a while and then make some room between us to sleep.
Once I almost fell asleep on his chest; I think he felt guilty about being uncomfortable with letting me stay there, because he muttered resignedly "I suppose I could get used to falling asleep like this..." I knew he was just saying it though, so I told him not to worry and saved him the bother of pushing me across the bed!
