I think people did long distance for different reasons in the past. Yeah, there were couples that met while traveling but I think relationships ended up being long distance because of war rather than because the couples met while traveling. 40 years ago women traveling on their own wasn't common and the process of courtship and marriage was much sorter and way earlier than it is now.

#1 Before the use of skype, aim and the internet with e-mails would you of been able to do a long distance relationship in the 1980's or earlier than that?!
Well, I hardly manage now, with skype, so I wouldn't manage at all! Although waiting for a letter to arrive would be quite romantic

#2 Even though you're long distance, do you feel you get hit on a lot more compared to when you were single?!
Well, yes, and the moment the guys hear you are in a LDR, they think of you as an easy target. Hehe, which I'm not

#3 Who's moving with who?! Name your city, state or country
Well, I always thought it would be me that would dare to leave everything behind, but he surprised me completely by saying that he wants to take a year off to come and live in Holland! I'm still planning on studying there though.

        1. I wouldn't have met him if it weren't for the internet, so I would've had to limit myself to guys that live near me anyways. If we had met first and then did a period of long distance, I'd still give it a shot if it was within a reasonable distance and time frame (ex. if calling wasn't too expensive and the time apart was fixed and short).

        2. I only started really dating about 3-4 months before I met my SO, so I don't have much to compare to. I do get more attention, but it's not really an issue. I'm probably oblivious to most of it and I'm happy to be able to tell them that I'm happily taken and move on.

        3. He's most likely moving to me in Canada
