I had my 1st visit with my SO and the last 2 weeks have been incredible, even better than I expected. The whole living with one another experience, albeit a small portion, was easy, our relationship grew, everything went along perfectly, my SO found work with my help and is doing fine, I hope. I'm struggling really badly. I feel empty coming back to a place that I don't want to be in and going back to steady work that I dislike for the money is filling me with dread. I'm trying my level best to stay positive but I'm failing miserably. I'm not coping well. It's probably the hardest thing I've done. I don't really know what else to say.

sorry to hear you're having such a rough time after the first visit. It's tough, most of us here have been on the same road you're on right now. Try to remember that this is not the end of the world, you will get through this and before you know it you'll be planning your next visit. Focus on all the fun things y'all did, and be happy that things worked out with you two. A lot of couples upon their first visit together end up not liking them and things end after the visit. From the sound of it everything went very swimmingly.
Everything will be ok, just keep hanging in there.
One thing I always advise is keeping a journal. Whether it's written or typed, it's always helpful to get your emotions out in words.
You will get through this, look at all of us who have. If I can do it, so can you.
Feel better soon <3

It's really hard to come back to your "normal" life after visiting your SO, I can reckon. /: But, as the above poster said, you just have to continue with life. It may be hard to think and get your head around (I know I'm like this!!), but you have to realise that there's more to life than your SO! You had a life before him and I really hope you can continue with it now that you're back to where you are.
Try focusing on the positives and plan your next trip little by little so you know you have something solid to work towards. Keep your mind busy -- which is REALLY HARD TO DO and easier said than done -- and you'll realise that, omg, a few hours passed without you thinking about him! Personally I find that a bit of a cruel victory, sorry to my boyfriend, haha.
And keep in contact!! Your SO hasn't disappeared or anything, though it feels like they have. /: Soon, you'll get into the rhythm of things and feel a lot better. All the best <3
Saying good-bye is the worst, PS x:"If you get hungry enough, they say, you start eating your own heart"
