my SO is currently at sea working and I hope he just has no internet and isn't mad at me and wanting to talk to me! last time we spoke (sunday night) he was a bit worried about something and i hope he isnt blaming me and so not speaking to me, but that isn't like him really. I'm the worrier, he would normally worry for about 2hours then move on. So I'm hoping that we haven't spoken because he has no internet, which means no email and no satelitte phone. either way though we haven't spoken in three days now it's a shame because he works all day 7 days a week and I know it's nice to be able to phone home, and im really missing him. he's been gone about a month and half now

I'm sorry your hurting my dear!! I'm sure everything is fine though. I find that when I dont hear from my SO I come up with so many reasons why he's not getting in touch and then I find out, his internet connection was down or something that stopped him from communicating with me and then I feel silly for over thinking! Please keep strong because everything will be fine I'm sure....

mine is at sea too (NAVY) but he promised to email me at least once a day and he's been very good at that, but since the ships internet is just unreliable so there were times where i wouldnt hear from him for a few days (usually 2). I'd tell you to wait and see... leave him a few emails telling him you are worried.

I work on a cruise ship and am currently home for vacation. Satellite Internet connection on a ship is just the worst thing since the invention of licorice. On my ship, it costs me 10 cents a minute no matter how fast the connection is. Trying to stay in touch with family and friends at home is quite a challenge, especially after midnight when all departments get out. So if you are ever in the Caribbean, or any other cruise ship paradise, and you see a whole bunch of people sitting in a restaurant/bar/cafe with their laptops or iPads, you can for sure say its crew connecting with home.
On my travels, I often thought: "at home, I was always mad when my video streams didn't load fast enough, now I am just happy when I get a steady Skype connection or my emails!"

Unfortunately now we're out contact again. I'm yet to get a response to the email I sent him back on Wednesday night. So now we've been out of contact now for a further two days. I miss him beyond words and as everyone says communication makes an LDR work, what do you do when you're denied this though? I understand he's currently unable to be in contact, so I'm not mad or blaming him or anyone. It just hurts being separated from him even more as we can't stay in touch. An email from him 1 day out of 6 is all the contact we've had this week. I don't even know where he is. He could be 6000 miles away or 5000. (For new readers he works at sea). I am happy because he's on the home stretch now and will be back within a month.... It's still a vague timeframe though. Anyone got advice on how to get through the waiting and missing him in the meantime?

you can plan on things to talk with him when he comes back, write those down, take some pics of yourself to show him when he is back, maybe go shopping, get a new outfit, get some pics, record a vlog video when you go out, upload it in YouTube as a private unlisted video if you want only your SO to see it and take time for yourself, in a perfectly real world, even if you live with your bf, he wont be there next to you 24/7, even though the distance in a ldr is crazy hard, it can be good too, take time off for yourself and pamper yourself. eat healthy, and become fit. make yourself feel good the month will go by fast
good luck
