Anyone dating or married to a truck driver

Hello I have recently started dating a new truck driver. At first it was ok but now it is so hard. This is a dream of his and its getting harder and harder to support this but love him and want to. I basically need advice or suggestions on how to be a truckers girlfriend/wife.

I assume he is what is called "over the road"? My ex that I was married to for 23 years was a truck driver, but he only did the long haul for like 6 months. So, how often is he home?

Yes he is over the road. Well he is still in training so his time home varies. Because him and his trainer are alternating there times home. He said once he gets done with training he is going to try and make it home everty weekend but I know that won't always be possible. I'm just not used to not having my boyfriend around. And he loves this job and is planning on doing it a LONG time and in the back of my head I'm screaming but to his face I'm smiling and supporting.
