Hurricane Sandy in NY/NJ! :|

My SO lives in PA, close'ish to Philly and I think I'm more scared for her than she is. lol
She's doing a great job at reassuring me but I just want it to be over.

My SO lives in NY and said Sandy is only classified as a category 1 hurricane which is pretty much the lowest level hurricane possible. Everything is gonna be fine.

But combined with the cold front it's not a great place to be right now. As I said before, my father works for the power company and they are very concerned.

The Jersey shore is pretty much devastated by flooding seeing as it took a pretty much direct hit. Power outages have started for the area my SO lives in - his mom is estimated to be without power for the next 7-10 days.

Safety-wise OP your SO should be fine! It's the power outages and environmental destruction that's bad.

My SO is in Toronto and luckily it isnt meant to hit there too hard at all, though he said its getting pretty windy. Some article online thats updating hourly has said that people in Southern Ontario should prepare for possible flooding, power cuts and should make sure they have supplies just incase.

I'm in the middle of CT near the MA side and its not -too- bad where I am, just winds and rain. The coast is whats really getting hit. I keep trying to calm my boyfriend down (who lives in the south) lol.

Its normal to worry, she'll be fine though if she stays inside and safe. <3

She is fine . She said it was a pretty bad hurricane, the worst one she's ever been in. They had a shark swimming down their street due to the flooding, she said it was pretty creepy. Other then that she said she is just fine. , I can't wait to go see her, I'm surprised her for Valentines day by going down there. ♥
