    it might be broken...

    So...I have some really bad news to share ; ^ ;

    I was practicing a dance I'm supposed to perform with my friends and it requires a jump at one point. When I jumped I landed on my foot wrong and my ankle rolled to the side. I ended up landing on both my ankle and foot and it's swelled to a ridiculous size at this point. My parents said they'll tkae me to the doctor tomorrow but for now it looks like I might have a broken foot =/ if that's the case then Iwon't be able to work for a few weeks and I may have to push back a visit time. Alex may be able to come down here for a visit if I can't go up there but...is still extremely disheartening. I can move my foot and my toes but right now it hurts quite a bit. Also, a layer of skin came off of the injury. I've never broken anything but this feels like it might be broken. I'm hoping for just a bad sprain, though, as it would only put me off work a day or so. So I may not get to visit him at the end of finals. =/

      I believe I read somewhere that if you can't move the injured area, it's broken. You may have dislocated it and sprained some toes. Coming from someone who dislocates herself on a daily basis I understand the pain, especially with delicate things like toes. I hope the doctor will be able to tell you it's not broken and can either set it back in place or give you a splint/bandage and some good ol' painkillers. I don't think it will cause you to miss that much work, though. Maybe a few days to a week for swelling and tenderness then just careful maneuvering.

        If it's swollen and hurts loads, it's not broken, but sprained. It'll be fine if you give it rest
