Garnet, just because you said that I figured I'd better post some pictures of my little guy and BIG guy! LOL! You're so sweet and I really appreciate that. I'm so happy for you and your situation too because it certainly is the best feeling when our kids even get excited to talk to OUR SO!! His plane landed at 11:30 pm Thursday night, and so far everything has been great! We went on a long weekend get-away to the Smoky Mountains with my dad's entire family (50+ people). I haven't gotten to see him today (I work two jobs and was scheduled for both today) but hoping to get to go to his indoor soccer game tomorrow night Love having him back home for a couple of weeks! Really excited for Christmas. I will be sad when he leaves though, his last day is January 4th. Until then we will make the most of our time together Enjoy your visit with your SO!

Oh, good for you! It sounds like you get a lot of time to spend together but I'm also assuming the visits may not be very frequent? Either way, I know you will totally enjoy your time together and that's amazing you get to spend Christmas together. My SO and I will only be able to see each other once a month for the weekend which is only about 3 days but I just figured frequent, short visits may make the time feel less difficult when we only have 3-3.5 weeks in between.

I hope he wins at his soccer game tomorrow and have a blast, sweetie! I'm really happy for you and keep your chin up! LDR's may be hard but I think they're so worth it.

Yeah we go 4-6 months between visits. It sucks, especially because we went from CD to LD, so we were used to seeing each othe every day, and then after he moved it was a HUGE adjustment. It is so worth it though. If we didn't love each other there is no way we could make this work Oh and he did win his soccere game, the one after that too! They're on a roll. I hope you enjoy your visit with your SO!

This was actually the 3rd time I was seeing my SO, but the first two were for only like 20 minutes.

I had been back from Ireland for about a month, and he was visiting and meeting my family. I drove out to the airport to get him. And I saw him walking outside the terminal. I parked the car by the curb and ran and jumped into his arms. And accidentally kicked over his bag. That was the best hug, and subsequently the best kiss, I have ever had. I was so excited for the first few hours I was sweating (kinda embarrassing, but he understood).
It was the feeling of finally. I am with him. What will be like when we are together? How will we interact? Its all so exhilarating. Then subsequent visits, I feel, become more comforting. Like your finally where you are supposed to be.

I play mind games with myself too. I even tell myself it's only 2 more months until he moves back. It's really 3.5. But it does make the time go by faster!

All these stories are making me all giddy! Stephen has bought his tickets for Feb. 15th-17th. My birthday is on Valentine's Day, but he couldn't make it for that. But he'll be here for the weekend. First time meeting...AAHHH! I'm so excited and scared and nervous all at the same time, but it's sort of a fun feeling. I know that once we are with each other all the nerves will go away. I don't know for sure, but I think our chemistry is going to be mind blowing. We click so well together, like puzzle pieces. I'm getting excited just talking about this!

Well anyway, he's never flown before, and I've never picked anyone up at the airport so it'll definitely be interesting. My sister is driving me since I don't have a car, and his plane is supposed to land at about 10am on that Friday.

I'll post the whole story here once it happens! SO excited!

I met my SO on a cruise in 2010, and we were friends/then official about 6 months later and had to wait about 1 year between seeing eachother again, but for the first time as a couple! I remember getting all dolled up with my cousin, Devon and driving to the airport. We found the gate and waited by the doors. I was shaking so bad from my nerves I was literally squeezing her (Devons) arm! I had my aunt there also to get everything on video so we could save it and watch it years down the line. Seeing him was instant chemistry.. it was amazing after all we had been through together over a year of waiting. He hugged me and said "I missed you so bad" for about a minute. We spent an amazing week afterwards that we will NEVER forget. It sure was the start of something incredible...

My SO is coming to visit me on Valetine's weekend too. Also my first time picking up anyone at the airport. We only have a night or two together but I can not freaking wait. I'm already planning all the things we'll get up too.

My SO and I knew each other in high school (as friends), but our first visit I drove up to his college when I had a break in October. I parked in the first parking lot I could find and then I called him because I had no idea where to go... Thankfully he was able to figure out where I was and he came down to meet me in the parking lot. I saw him walking towards me and I got all antsy wondering if everything was going to be the same in person as online. It was! We went up to his dorm room and spent a long time just hugging and looking at each other, and then he kissed me and we made out for like an hour !

The friday after valentines day im going to travel to her. I cant wait for it. Its almost half year ago i met her. And we both cant wait to see each other again. I have like 3 days together with her. Probably the best day so far of my life

We already met before last summer in 2012 when he came to visit, and in winter it was my turn. I was so sure we won't meet in winter as i didn't have any money, and the thought of living with his family for almost a month was freaking me out, but he ended up paying for my ticket, and his family .. well i just love all of them to bits (about all 13 of them, and that's just on his mother's side)!

I was rather calm the weeks before and throughout the flight, and when i finally landed (the plane had 1:20h delay cause of snow) the first thing i felt was panic. He was waiting for me at the gate which had two exits and after a clever distraction to his parents guarding the other exit, he managed to be there alone. We kissed but it didn't feel right, i was still in panic and for a brief moment thought "why am i here?", "what am i doing?". His mom jumped to hug me when she saw me and that surprised me and made me calm down a bit at the same time, his dad was cool too.

The airport is about 1:30h drive from their house so i had plenty of time to settle down and get rid of the panic, and by the time we got home it felt like i've always lived there and been a part of their family. It was the best Christmas and new years i ever had, even if we spent them at home with his family, and i understood something: all those stupid little things you worry about when you're apart.. they don't really matter when you get to hold your love in your arms.
