hello everyone. Alright well i met a guy a long time ago and we became close friends. recently in November we started dating. we have been through a lot together, and have formed a deep bond. i love him very much but due to some unfourtante events he moved back to michigan, and so since weve been through a lot we decided to try our hand at a lDR. but i'm very nervous because ive never been in one and have no idea what to do. We talk on the phone and text and now we are trying to skype. but honestly im having a hard time with the fact that hes not here next to me. we don't get to talk long either bc of time and such. its all so very confusing and frustrating and have no idea what to do. Those experienced LDR please some advice! thank you!

Don't treat it as such a horrible, big deal, it's just a relationship like any other, but some different challenges. If you start off looking at it so negatively, you're kinda dooming it right from the start.
You read through this forum, you talk when you can, you trust each other, have fun together, and believe that it's worth taking a shot at. Then, you live your life, that's it Good luck. Our separation of each other is an optical illusion of consciousness. ~Albert Einstein

As Moon said, stop looking at the distance as a negative thing. Take a look at the list (and on the forum) of things to do in an LDR. Talk to your SO and get to know him better than you ever thought you could. You don't need to be physically close to maintain that "deep bond".

LDRs aren't so bad really, once you get the swing of it. You can totally rock this shit, it's all in your attitude!
Also, write letters. I'm a big fan of writing letters, it's a bit more spesh than email/facebook/txtingHappily married to the little Canadian boy I never thought I'd meet in person

LDR can actually strengthen your relationship eventually... think about it, when you have conquered the time and the distance and you guys are finally together in person, doesn't that prove that your love is strong? Really strong~You used to be much more..."muchier." You've lost your muchness

agree with all above you said you have a deep bond and love him, then just keep loving him and communicating! it is awfully hard not be able to hug or kiss the person but also you got more time for yourself, your friends and family.plus it motivates you to work and become more serious in your attitude towards life i suppose
