Some people don't take hints well so sometimes it's better to give a blunt "I didn't ask you" and let them pout.

I think if he really wants to see you as much as you do him, it'll win over the insecurity. I'm overweight, always have been, and I'm scared to death about my SO seeing all of it in person for the same reason but if I had the chance I'd be on a plane to see him right stat yesterday regardless. You can reassure them all you want but sometimes it doesn't do anything and they have to realize for themselves that love means loving someone because they have imperfections, not because they're human-lessly ideal and perfect.

Honestly, the only thing keeping my SO from moving to be with me is himself. After an unsuccessful move here this past December that lasted only two months, he is completely confused about his life and has no idea what he wants to do. He has admitted that he needs to work on his motivation, but I have no idea how that is going. I have two more years until I graduate from school, so I guess there is not a reason to rush into him making the move since I will probably have to relocate anyway after graduation. However, I definitely would not want to go more than three more years without closing the distance, but that is just me.
