How did your SO ask you to be in a relationship or how did you ask them?

We'd been best friends for 11 years and he was going to be leaving for college 360 miles away. We went to the pool with a few friends and then went to Subway for dinner. We had taken 2 separate cars, mine and my friends. Anthony rode with me to Subway so he left his stuff in my car. After dinner, I had to go back home but Anthony was going to go back with our friends. So, he came back to my car and got his stuff. Our friends locked Anthony out of their car until he went back and asked me out. He comes back to my car and says "Can I ask you something?" and I knew what was coming. I said "Sure." "Do you want to go out with me some time?" "Of course." "Awesome, bye." and he ran off. xD

Thinking back on that...my SO and I never really had the discussion of whether or not to be in a relationship. I guess it just sort of happened over time! We have been together for a year and a half and still going strong...couldn't be any more happier with him

we were in university,i had a bf back home and he had a gf back home,but we fell for each other.so after few days of cuddling n kissing,he exused himself for a bathroom and then he came back,stood on one knee and asked "will you date me?" i honestly thought for few secs whether em ready to end a year-long relationship with my ex,and i understood em absolutely in love with the person in front of me ^^ when i replied yes,he then happily said "now you are my goddamn girl"

I don't think we really asked each other to be in a relationship, it all went down something like:

Me (after a break up with an asshole): I really don't like being single and feeling alone.
Him: Now i feel like i could be your boyfriend for a while to make you feel better.

And we just shrugged it off, only to realize months later.. hey wait, why not?! we're perfect for each other and all our mutual friends thought we were a couple anyway, and we were crushing on each other when we met almost 5 years ago anyway!

My birthday came and i spent most of it with him and we sorta started talking how maybe we did have feelings going on but we were so used to "us: best friends for 5 years" we didn't even notice (i know, i know, we both failed as we were always jelly whenever the other one mentioned a crush/partner ) and then summer came and we met and it sort of got official when we held hands for the first time :3 I'll never forget that moment.

To be honest neither of us asked. We just spent all our time talking and then all the sudden pet names came into it and the next thing I know we're a couple haha.

It was our last day of my first visit. We were in bed, talking about us when he said that we should try having a LDR because he was really into me.
I had something really important to tell him before saying yes, so after I told him we didn't talk about it for another two hours or so.


That's when I told him that I wanted him to be my boyfriend. We've been together for almost six months and I'm typing this on the plane because I'm going to see him!

Well, I figured his crush on me much earlier before he confessed. I turned down his confession and two years later, with him still in love with me, I finally fell back for him and we clicked.

We sort of never really defined it. We talked every day for months and months, but when he changed his status to "in a relationship" I had to ask him if it was with me. I changed mine a couple of weeks after that and I guess it went from there.

We actually count our anniversary from the first day we met. We met in the lunch line at a student orientation (that story in itself is romantic ) and he texted me later that day asking me out for coffee. Well, from the moment we met after that, we weren't apart...our first date lasted fourteen(ish?) hours, and the next day, as we were lying in bed after talking for hours and hours, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and of course I said yes. He told me he'd wanted to ask the day before, but didn't want to freak me out. I would have said yes then anyway. I told him I loved him that same day, and he said I love you, too, and even though we had a bit of a crazy first few months, with him traveling and learning to trust in a relationship again, and me learning what it was actually like to be in a relationship, we haven't looked back since.

He just makes me so darned happy!

Um...well we went on 3 dates, on the third date he made it clear that he was gonna ask me out. BUT he wanted to wait til he got back from Florida (I gave him so much shit for that. Wanting to wait so he could be single and free to mingle while in the sunshine state) Anyway, a week and a half later we went to the drive in and saw Snow white and the huntsman (Chris Hemsworth...yum!). We were waiting for the movie to start and he looked at me and was like, "SO, I was gonna wait til the end of the night to do this but I can't wait. Do you maybe wanna be my gf?" And of course I said yes. And we spent the rest of the night getting frisky in the back seat of his car at the drive in lol!

I brought up mutually agreed upon relationship, and for me it has to be exclusive... then he just called me his girl friend I know it's probably not the sweetest thing in the world but I love him so much, it doesn't matter
