    Your first visit. :)

I'm currently trying to work out my first visit to my SO, which will also be our first time meeting in person, and I want to hear everyone else's stories! How did you get there? What was it like seeing them [esp. for other people who hadn't met beforehand!]? What was the worst part of the trip? The best? I want to hear about anything you feel like explaining. (: I love reading everyone else's stories, the happy parts give me hope that it will all be okay, and the crappy parts let me know that I'm not the only one dealing with the stress. xD
This was probably a lot of unnecessary words for a could-be-small question.

The worst part of the trip: The long flights. I flew from Germany to New Zealand, so it was a 24+ hours trip. One flight was 8 hours long, the other one 13 hours, another one 3 hours and so on. My knees were hurting like crazy. I dislike people that pull their seat back all the way. For the whole flight! >.>

The best part of the trip: Meeting my SO. We had been typing, texting and Skyping for 5 months before we decided to see each other, so the moment I got to see her waiting for me at the airport... was the best ever. She smiled, too nervous to move, so I waved her over and then we hugged. It felt so good. At that point I just had this feeling that it would be amazing, and I was right. It was the best time of my whole life. I even fell in love.

That's alright! We met through LiveJournal.com, I left a comment on a fan fiction story and she left one too. I commented on her one and she replied back. We did that for a whole night and then we started to switch to private messaging, that turned into writing emails, text messages and then we started Skyping (headset + webcam). And I stayed for 5 whole weeks! It's such a long trip so we said I should stay for at least 4 weeks...

          Awesome (:
I won't be going on my first visit until next summer, because I'm starting my senior year in a week, and my parent's wont let me go on my trip until after graduation. We haven't worked out a time frame yet, it all depends on how much money I have by then. xD

It's going to be amazing! Excitement is such a lovely feeling. My SO is going to visit me at the end of November. She will stay for 6 weeks. So that we can spend our first year anniversary together, Christmas and New Year's Eve.

The worst part of the trip in my opinion is when you have to break apart, it's always heartbreaking for me and it's extremely hard to get used to it

The best part is everything else: getting up in the morning knowing tonight you'll see each other, texting when you're leaving for and arriving at the airport, texting when boarding and have landed, the smiles on your faces when you finally get to see each other for the first time, all that is truly magical and it's an experience you'll never forget

                Aww (:
I'm so excited! I'm trying to get the majority of the details worked out early [I wont get to go until like next June xD] so that when it comes time for it I can just focus on stuff like what I'm going to wear, and if I should bring both of my teddys or just one xD
I like planning, and lists and such, which works out epically because as much as I love my man, he's one of those "Let's just wing it" types. xD If I left it up to him nothing would get done.

haha, Alex and I met on Gaia and it took me over a year to get up the ability to go see him.
When I first got off the plane he'd told me to call him so that he could know I was coming out and be looking for me. So I called him but the quality was poor so I don't think he got all of it. I walked out and looked and saw him sitting in this waiting area and he just got up, smiling pretty big, and we hugged (well, he tried to give me a kiss but I was so extremely nervous I didn't realize that until way after it was too late). It was a little surreal as it's rare for me to see his full body on video chat, but it was amazing nonetheless.

There were two worst parts of the trip. One night we had stayed up late and we were cuddling in bed and talking about stuff because he hadn't decided whether to ask me out officially or not. He has a lot of insecurities and we were just...talkinjg about that stuff and it got very serious and we both said things that weren't hurtful, but they made me extremely sad, so I couldn't stop crying. Then again, that wasn't a horrible thing because he just held me and kissed the top of my head and waited until I stopped. The other worst part was leaving. It took me sooooo long to actually go for the security thing to get to the other part of the airport. I was crying so much. ^^;; and we got there like 2 hours before my plane boarded so I convinced him to stay and eat breakfast with me and then I would try to go to the security scanner, but ended up going back to him then he'd send me, then I'd come back. ^^;; Eventually he kissed me rather deeply and said, "Go, you crazy Texan. Otherwise you'll miss your flight." So I went. ^^;; cried on both flights home.

                  The best parts were just the things like cuddling or talking. Really, it's the little things that you miss the most down the road. He would run his finger tips up and down my arm when we cuddled and I miss that sooo much. ^^;

True. Having to say goodbye does really hurt. I had no idea how much. I was just crying for hours; even when I was walking through crowds of people and on the plane.

Worst part: Being at the airport on your own on the way back
                          Best part: The 'Hello-cuddle"

The worst part was how nervous we were. The best part was that once we got to the hotel, we finally relaxed and had laughed and had fun.

There's a funny ending to his first visit. He was suppose to leave on a Monday, which he did. And it was really sad. But I just went on and ate dinner and took a shower and then sat down at the computer to check my online games and everything and around 9:00 that night, the phone rings...and it's him! He said something about how he got confused and he didn't have enough money to get home, but he didn't have enough money to get a hotel either and asked what he should do. I'm like, "I think you should go home." because I knew he had to work the following day, not realizing where he was calling from. And he was like, "...You don't want to see me?" And I got like O_O and asked where he was and he said, "At the pay phone across from your house." It turns out that he had gotten about halfway home, stopped for gas and then somehow wound up going southbound on I-5 instead of continuing on north to go home. By the time he realized he was going south, he was already in the county that I live in and felt that he had no choice but the come back here. It was very weird because he's very good with directions and maps and that kind of stuff. I believe it was fate that brought him back for another night.
