MY SO has decided to come and see me soon. How can I prepare my parents for this? They totally freaked out when I told them about him a few weeks ago. He is going to possibly move to NC in the future and I want them to like him so much! How can I prepare them for his arrival?

If you are a teen, then they just show how much they care and love you. Just prove to them that this guy is for real and he's sincere and there's no reason to freak out.
I am NOT a teen, but my SO and I are having a hard time convincing my parents to take our relationship in a positive way at first because they're really strict. Here are some things we did that made them like him (and even excited to meet him!). I hope these can help:
1. Slowly share to them stuff about him. (Ex.: Your dad loves subwoofers and you tell him that your SO loves subs too. Or you randomly share a story about how intelligent/smart this guy is.) Slowly but surely, the positive stories will make your SO appealing to them.
2. Once you've shared nice stuff, ask your parents if they would like to 'meet' him on Skype for a video call so he can introduce himself and your parents can ask him questions. NOTE: Your SO should be as dedicated as you in making your parents like him for this thing to work.
3. Schedule his trip to see you/you to see him and involve your parents in it. After my SO talked to my mom, they hit it off (my mom never liked the idea of our LDR, but whoa! My SO really took her breath away because he showed how much he loves me by talking to her bravely on Skype and saying his intentions to court me in person!). My SO asked my mom to help him surprise me when he comes here, and they're now talking behind my back. (Imagine that?)
4. If you're younger than 18, make your SO repeat to your parents for many times that his intentions are good and he will never do anything that will harm you, and he should tell your parents that he respects you. This really matters a lot to them. If I was a mother, I would like it if a man goes up to me and tells me that he respects my daughter.
Hope that helped.
