It wasn't really awkward for us. We hugged each other, he kissed me and then we walked down the stairs and he said "I knew it wouldn't be awkward" :P

There was another couple that met each other a couple days prior to us and they both told me that it was super awkward for them until they got to the hotel and started making out :P

hahaha.. that's my story. It was the same for us... really awkward and weird.. which then turned into unbelieveable, intense and electric Definitely something I will never forget.

So if it's awkaward at first, don't panic. Keep an open mind and wait it out a bit

OMG no way! It was the most magical moment I've ever experienced in my life. Everything I thought it would be x10 and my bf and I still enjoy talking and laughing about it.

Every single one of us goes through the nervousness of the first meet. It's very rare that I have seen someone come back from a first visit and say that it wasn't amazing.

I wouldnt say awkward but it was strange. Like Moon said, it took an hour or so to feel comfortable but we were fine. There are some first meeting stories on here somewhere, have a read of those and they should help you abit.
As long as there is air in my lungs... there is a chance

Nah, I think I was too giddy and giggly - which made me feel embarrassed more than being quiet around him. It got better though, luckily.

After a year of meeting on Facebook we both flew to London(first for both) she was waiting at the airport for me, as my flight had been cancelled a few times. After I had finished going through customs I started to look for her, at first I could not see her and I was not sure she was even there, so I saw an ATM and proceeded to get some pounds. I then turned around and off in the distance I finally saw Anya standing there, holding a stuffed teddy bear holding a big heart that said I Love You. We hugged each other and since she knew where to go I followed her to the subway. Once on the subway. It was somewhat awkward, we where just sitting there surrounded by other people, not knowing what to do. we had some broken conversations and did a lot of smiling. But, once we got to the Hotel room and we were together, that awkwardness did not last long.

When I first met my boyfriend in person I was so nervous! My heart was pounding and I couldn't look at him at first! We cuddled on the couch it was still a bit tense. It got less tense when we shared our first kiss! The second time I felt butterflies in my stomach getting off the plane. He was waiting for me at the bag check and he kissed me right away! The third time it wasn't nervousness from seeing him but more because he was meeting my parents! The fourth time no awkwardness at all!

God no! For us, we'd been long distance without meeting for just over five years, and when we finally did meet last year it was basically like we'd seen each other the day before We did think it would have been awkward at first though, but it felt really natural to finally be next to each other.
