    21st Present.

Okay guys, here's where I need your help. Matt's 21st is in October. I need to make him an amazing present that he'll love forever. Today, I bought a 40 page A5 visual art diary with black pages. I plan on putting white squares of paper so as to make a black border on some pages. I was thinking of putting things like:
    • 21 Memories
    • 21 Songs That Remind Me of You
    • 21 Photos
    • 21 Things I Love About You
    • 21 Ways to Say I Love You (Using the international love heart idea)
    • 21 Hearts (get photos of people making hearts with their hands or on the beach or carved in trees, etc.)

...But... I don't know if this is really lame and stupid and corny. 'Cause I've made him a scrapbook before and that was nice. But this is his birthday. I need it to be about him. But I've only known him since January 2009.

My question is... do you guys have any ideas of what I could put in there?

Awesome idea with keeping a 21 theme. If you know any of his interests you might incorporate them. Another thing to add could be 21 ways he's inspired you whether it's just to be a better person or whatnot, 21 things you want to do when you're together, 21 things to do together in the next 21 years, could look up stuff that happened on his birth date you think he'd like knowing and see if you can make that into a 21 list, or 20 and have 21 be "you were born!"
I personally don't think it's corny, I just wouldn't rely heavily on romance because that to me makes it sound rather Valentine's Day. Keeping it about him, the both of you, silly things that will make him smile, and even serious things that convey your feelings and how he's changed your life I think would be a neato addition to the list you have going already.

What are his interests and things? Try put a lot of stuff in that he will read and make him laugh or go "cool!" as well as the romantic stuff.

Thanks, LMH! They're really good ideas. His interests are sport and things, so I don't know what I can do with that. But... I might be able to make a 21-word find-a-word or something? Umm... And I really like the "What happened in your birth year" kind of things. Let's hope I get his birth year right. Haha! So... 21... That makes him 1989. Sweet. You're right about the heavily romantic bit. Thanks for the help - any more ideas are very welcome!!!

I'll try and think of some sporty things to include. That's a good idea, MM!

        Thanks so much, guys!

You could see if something cool happened on his date of birth..
I once received a nice gift: it was a framed front page of a newspaper on my date of birth.

One of the stories was quite cool: a cow had prevented a terrorist attack by chewing on the green wire and diffusing the bomb, haha...

I think that this is a cute idea! Maybe you should add, 21 things you like to do together, 21 of his favorite things. Stuff like that too

Damn! Too bad neither of you are American or I'd recommend making (or buying) cookies in the shape of 21 different bottles of booze (from fancy to extra ghetto ;D). Do that anyway! Just for the hell of it.

I'm the type of person who likes to add in gifts that make you laugh so expect my ideas to be a little odd:

-Name 21 of your future children. Draw little pictures of what you expect them to look like and maybe describe their personalities. This is mostly to make him laugh and scare him >:'D

-If it doesn't bother you, pictures of 21 porn stars censoring all the naughty parts with cutouts of your face pouting like you're ashamed :'D.

-If you want another variation of one already suggested, you can instead list 21 things that happened on the day he was born. It can be done with different years :P. Good if he's interested in history :'D.

-Uh...I'll post something normal if I can think of it @_@.

I gave my SO for his 21st this year an Australian Coin Watch with his date of birth :P But it isn't cheap. But that was my Mum's idea and I thought it was awesome

I also gave him a DVD of my me and my family and friends wishing him a happy 21st :P He loved it!
