I have every conversation we have had recorded on Skype. I know it sounds creepy but it helps me sometimes to hear his voice again...and it will put me to sleep like nothing else will when I can't sleep.
Also, we talk like on a daily basis. Haven't been a day that's gone by since he came back into my life that we haven't chatted.
We're one of the fortunate couples that get to talk to each other every day. There's only some exceptions when he's doing something with his family (mostly over the holidays) and he can't be online, but then I just spend time talking to my friends or play video games. Keeping busy is key

We talk everyday for the most part. Sometimes conversation is more sparse or we stick to the basics of "how was your day?", but we still talk nonetheless.
When we were LD, we would text for one or two little "bursts" and usually have a short phone conversation in the evening. Some days we wouldn't talk as we were busy. I was used to this routine, so I didn't have to "cope" with less communication per se, but finding other things to do or other people to hang out with always helps.
Now that we are CD we talk a lot more frequently, but often being in the same house helps.
We talk every day, which is good since we don't get many visits. Well, we IM and text every day. Video is pretty rare (grrr), and phone calls are rare too.
we used to talk everyday! it was nice. but lately since January she's ignoring me so we barely speak to each other. It's normally weekends she wants to talk
not that often!

My LDR has become like yours. In the beginning, it was often six hours a night on the phone. That was the first four years. Starting back in late 2011, it started to become less n' less. When I found out why, I felt really bad for her. Because it wasn't something that was premeditated on her part. So, I know she isn't ignoring me when the communication gets' into its' 'silent' periods.

John 4:12
I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
We're now able to text again everyday since he got a new phone that has WhatsApp. Before, communication that wasn't on Facebook or Skype was very, very expensive. My phone bills last year were crazy high !
We chat on the phone maybe twice a week and Skpye a few times a month (because my SO has to go to an internet cafe)
We email during working hours (thank goodness for very little time difference), text a coupe of times at night (no internet at home, for now), talk briefly on the phone every other day and Skype for a couple of hours once or twice a week.
I thought of you and the years and all the sadness fell away from me - Pink Floyd
We chat or message every day, usually in the morning (my morning - his evening) and then when he's on the train in to work. Thank goodness for WhatsApp! We didn't use to ever Skype but recently we've started to more often and sometimes it's nearly every day, sometimes weeks in between. Every now and then he gets a bit down and doesn't want to talk much, and those periods are hard for me, but they usually pass after about a week or so and then everything's good again
