How often do you communicate?

How often do you all communicate with someone who just moved away. Do you initiate contact first all the time? What about giving them time to get situated with the surroundings etc?

Give them time to get settled and let them message you first.

If you can't resist, I'd write something like "hope everything is going well, looking forward to hearing from you when you're settled".

I wouldn't be worried about contacting them first. I mean, if they care about you, they won't mind at all
