Oh I feel for you. 
I'm in a little similar situation... we don't know yet when we can actually close the distance, cause I'm graduating within 6 months (fingers crossed) and he still has at least 2½ years of university left. He is applying for a master's programme for next autumn here though, but it's not easy to get in at all. Also, it depends on where I find a job... SO MANY question marks, which isn't easy to handle! But we try to stay positive and just go by day at a time
I think that's the best way to handle it. And we just have to believe that it will work out in the end.
