I'm sorry the relationship didn't work out for you two. But I for one think it's great that you guys are still friends. I mean, if you guys were best friends before, then that's all the more reason to save at least the friendship in my opinion. Personally, I've always been big on friendships and it still upsets me a little bit to think my second ex(my last "physical" ex) and I haven't been able to even remain friends ever since we broke up. It's been 13 bloody years, and I STILL wish she and I could be friends. It's more of an emotional scar now than anything else. As much as I've always been sad about how things turned out in the end, I've pretty much come to accept her decision. But because of this, I'm particularly grateful toward my last online ex because she and I are still friends to this day(and trust me, now I can see she and I totally would NOT have worked as a romantic couple! lol).
Some people don't believe two people should stay friends after they break up, but I don't think it should necessarily be an all-or-nothing type situation. I personally think it all depends on each couple. And in your case, I for one believe you SHOULD stay friends. Which you are, so I think that's a good thing. The Ten Commandments article was interesting in a way, but in my opinion it sounded like it came from a biased view of a bitter woman who thought all men were sexist and focused on sex. Sure, you need a space to breathe. We all do after a breakup, regardless of gender. But that doesn't mean you necessarily have to cut all ties with your ex in order to acquire that space. From my own experience, you can have the space you need during the "mourning/healing" process and still be friends with your ex, as long as you're both understanding about the situation. I for one believe no one should interfere with your decision to stay friends if that friendship can actually work.
So, I hope all works out for you two in one way or another. Peace. :-)

I'm really really sorry to hear this. I read this and was unsure what to say but I just wanted to say I'm really sorry. It's good if you can stay friends though, and I wish you the best in your future and that you will be able to achieve your dreams and goals that will make you happy.

Hi, I'm new to this wonderful place and I'm here to say this,
"But please don't cry, dry your eyes, never let up
Forgive but don't forget, girl keep your head up"
Tupac
U never know what the future holds for u...
After heavy rain, there's always sunshine, because the sun always shines through, never ever let up!
Best wishes from me!!!
