This is my last year as a Simmons!

This time next year I'll be married! Every holiday from now on will be my last as Beth Simmons. It's so bitter-sweet. I'm excited to be starting my life with Stephen, but it will definitely be sad leaving my parents. People tell me that's immature, but I don't think it is. I have such an amazing relationship with my family, so it will definitely be difficult.

I'm counting down the months, though! Almost ten to go!!

Best of luck on the transition phase. It is not immature, but healthy to morn times passed and to give yourself time to settle in your new role. You must figure out all for yourself and you as a couple. Hope you will have fun with it
I made love to him only twice, she thought and looked at the man laying asleep beside her. And yet still it is as if we have been together forever, as if he has always known my life, my soul, my body, my light, my pain

Congratulations! I do not think it's immature for you to feel sad about leaving your parents. I felt the same when I went off the college and when I joined the military. I miss them a ton still and think it's normal, especially if you've had a close relationship with them.

That's great. Best wishes. Any changes are difficult, good or bad, so you are feeling normal emotions.

There is a way for it not to be bitter-sweet: Keep your maiden name, or hyphenate both yours and his name. I did the latter and it's cool as hell.
