    She's gone :( (home)

We met in person on December the 15th. A month later and my beautiful So just left to fly back to America. I'm so upset and to make matters worse, I have to wait 6 hours until my flight leaves :'(

    *virtual hugs*

I feel your pain After having them in your arms, having to say "goodbye for now" and watch them go back home makes the distance feel so much bigger and waiting feel so much tougher.

Ugh it's like being apart was the reality and coming together was the dream. Now we've been together for a month and we've been separated, it's like that was real and now being alone is the bad dream.

I had an almost similar experience. I had to watch my SO drive off and then I had to wait 5 hours to leave to go back to the US! Then got stuck in LHR overnight. SMH! The reality is that you're both very much in love and soon darling, very soon, she'll be in your arms again. I don't know your circumstances, I just know that it hurts. We're here for you. Try to stay strong!

Hopefully you'll have a count down soon to your next visit. That'll give you something to look forward to. I wish I could tell you goodbyes get easier, but they don't.

Part of me wishes she was from the UK, or at least the EU. Meeting would be so much easier and affordable, but I know if that were true, she wouldn't be the same American I've came to love so dearly. I hope I can meet her again soon. Hopefully the end of April; my birthday.

At least you've got that to focus on. How about writing her a letter? It'd be a nice surprise for her and it'll keep you busy (not for long unfortunately).

Good idea I got us both picture frames for christmas but she couldn't fit it in her suitcase. Might be worth asking her which is her favourite photo of us so I can print it, frame it, send it

My SO made stickers of my face with his label maker!! Cute, but funny. Send the frame definitely. Or think of a keepsake idea

I wrote my SO "open when letters" that he could take with him when he went back to America and one of them was "open when on the plane". Saying byes see you soon at the airport was so tough, we both cried and kissed and hugged many times, I remember he walked to go through security saying "I love you" and then came back for one last kiss and hugs with tears down his face.

I waited at the airport until I knew he flight had left and bought myself from the airport shop his favourite snack while he was in England tangfastics sour haribo sweets and his favourite fizzy drink at the time to remind myself of him. I mainly cried on the bus and at home, as that's when it really hit me that he was not with me and wouldn't be for months and months.

But for us we already had planned to start the fiance visa process and we are almost done, I find the hardest days are when the hoildays go by and birthdays and other such celebrations and we couldn't be there. But we are closing the distance soon, so we stay positive and keep ourselves busy, like I spend time with family when possible as I will move to America. The key is to plan next visits, plan your future together and to have countdowns and to keep busy with things when you can't talk like at work.

Man... I'm sorry! That had to be soo difficult. I, too cried, so very hard. At the check in gate. I cried hard then too. I was trying to keep it together and not make a scene, but man was it hard. Especially seeing him drive off. Good luck to you with your fiancee visa. I'm no expert at all. I was wondering if it was a difficult process for you all? As I've done my research. I see that us being married (when the time is right) here in America is going to be much easier than the UK.

It seems marriage is easier in the US however it also comes down to who can support who the best. My SO doesn't make enough to support me (yet) and tbh I probably don't. But if I got a full time job I could support her here... But getting her here is a long and tiring process. Cmon British government! The US are our biggest allies! Make immigration easier for them just like the EU!

I've been going over different visas and just an array of things the past few days and I've been wrecking my brain. It's exhausting! You're right, it is seemingly more difficult!!!
