Males on the Forum

Not really sure where to put this but I guess here is as good a place as any...

It's been a while since I've been active on here and it's changed quite a bit! Michelle and Frank have done such a great job here, it really is fantastic so thanks you 2!

It's quite a difference when you think back to the old forum... amazing

Anyhoo!

Back to my point which is this - since I've been gone it looks like there's been looooooooads of new members, and seeing as the phrase "it'll be nice to see some male input on the forum" seem fairly commonplace in the Intros section, or at least it was, I was wondering 2 things:

1. Roughly how many active members do we have now? (More aimed specifically at Michelle or Frank this one tbh...)
   
   
2. Roughly what % are male? Or how many active male members are there?
   

I'd imagine not too many... but surprise me

According to the stats, we have 602 active visitors (visitors that have logged in within the last 30 days - not how many have posted). Keep in mind that many "active" members are lurkers and newbies (we've had a surge in new members and traffic in August) :P The active user count is kept up to date at the bottom of the main forum page. This number has doubled over the summer. I think back in May/June it was somewhere around 300 active members.

I just recently made it so people can choose their gender in their profiles. So I don't know the exact stats on that. But going by our facebook fans, 27% are male. So I would guess that it would be about the same for our members on the site.

On our facebook wall, most comments are posted by females. I only see guys post once in awhile. That said, even though our members might be 27% male, I would even guess that only 10% of our active users are male. Perhaps even less.
