How Do You Make It Work?

I'm fairly new to LDRs. I've had a few experiences in the past but I was young and immature.

Anywho, I was wondering, what are some things you guys do to make it work? How do you'll handle not being able to see each other or hang out?

That's an incredibly broad question, and we have a lot of threads for you to read through in this subforum if you're curious The forum is seriously a great source, feel free to dig around and read. The search function can help.

It'll take a lot more than words and guns
A whole lot more than riches and muscle
The hands of the many must join as one
And together we'll cross the river

      1. make sure your partner is worth the efforts
      2.deal with it

But to be honest, its all about patience and talking. Honesty is the key here and the main thing is to open up to your SO about anything that may trouble or worry you.
To make it work we Skype, make selfies, send SMS and real letters and looots of things.LDR boosts creativity
Just remember its not something weird. Its love, just in more deep and serious form.

We forgive each other easily, visit often and Skype most days. And we both have jobs and social lives to keep us busy. We also have projects in common.
I made love to him only twice, she thought and looked at the man laying asleep beside her. And yet still it is as if we have been together forever, as if he has always known my life, my soul, my body, my light, my pain

We text often and Skype when we can. It's all about patience and willpower to see through it til the day we can close the distance. Plan visits often and set up a close the distance end date if you can.

Hit the nail on the head. LDR's are all about patience and trust. Being honest when you do talk and basically just working through everything to make it work.

Structure is important. Knowing each others schedules, keeping each other informed and making little gestures that make each other feel like you're a part of each other's lives.

Text throughout the day, send photos, talk on Skype, do Skype dates, watch movies online together, play online games together, plan visits.
