We met in person, but I really got to know my SO online and that's when the romance and sparks really flew. Frankly, I think it's a great thing for a relationship, LDR or not. I'm fortunate enough that I'm dating a girl with an absolute mastery of language (that I find incredibly endearing) and it really got to show in her writing style. And while she is a writer, it's one of the things I love about her and may not have gotten to know as fully in a shorter distance. So while I do miss her and wish she was here everyday, I'm thankful for everything I got to know and learn about her because of how we got to become more acquainted with each other before later meetings. It also made me love her more than any other woman I've ever seen before cause I've cared to know her far better. And it's been the best decision of my life.

I agree that getting to know my SO through emails and Skype conversations probably gave us a deeper understanding of one another more quickly than had we just lived closer together and been flirtatiously dating. However, I did not enjoy the months of getting like 4 hours of sleep a night because we have a 5 hour time difference and busy schedules. I mean, it's much better now - I get at least SIX hours. Ha. Also, it did a number on my social life, because I would blow people off to spend time with him. Had we been CD, I could have just brought him along. With strict instructions to behave, of course.

My SO and I met on an online site called "Flirt-o-matic" and after being on it for awhile it was worth it, I met her and we started talking/flirting right out of the gate. Soon we both realized it was more than just flirting and chatting and it became much more once we both quit that site and started texting/talking on the phone everynight/Facebooking. We fell for for each other and after we both confessed our feelings it's been nothing but bliss! I was always hesitant to use the word "soulmate" but thru the open communcation we share it became apparent that we have become just that to one another.

I met my SO through a mutual friend. Originally I had added him to tell him off about a minor something my friend was upset about. After I did that, we stopped talking for a while. Then one night, I was drunk and talked to him about video games for hours because I was bored at my friend's house. Every night after that, we talked until 5:00AM or later. I think we both figured nothing would happen from it, since we lived so far away.
The funny thing is, right before we started talking a lot, he had came down to visit his family and was legit a few houses down the road visiting. We really hit ourselves over the head with that one, but he came back to visit for Christmas and stayed with me.
It's weird, because we're not identical or have many similarities, but I could talk to him about anything from the start. His mom also used the word, "soulmates" when I sent him a silly letter in the mail for the first time. We had and still have so many inside jokes, and now we've switched to talking on Facebook. But I use to go on msn every night and look to talk to him. Now he's mine and I'm so happy.

I met my BF on a dating site, plenty of fish. They have a phone app in which it shows you a photo of a person and you click yes or no on being interested in the person and they will then notify the person if you click "yes". I saw his photo and then clicked to view his profile and liked what I saw so I clicked "yes". He responded a few hours later with a "yes" he was also interested. I dunno why but I felt compelled to message him even though I was at the point where I refused to contact men first. well, it was a good thing I did because he responded telling me he tried to send me a message twice but he got an error saying he was blocked because he was "too far away" distance wise. hahaha! I apparently put my filter up that men 2+ more hours away were not allowed to message me. I'm glad I got over my stubbornness and messaged him that day because he is the best thing to happen to me!

We met on the PostSecret Community. I posted about an issue I was going through and he was the only one to contact me. He offered to talk to me because he has gone through something similar and he didn't want me, a stranger, to suffer alone like he did. He really saved my life by just being my friend...and then more .

This is awesome My sister turned me on to PostSecret and now Dylan and I read the secrets together every Sunday (Sometimes in person, sometimes over GoogleChat)
We met on Twitter... we were both watching the same TV show and were using the same hashtag. I general tweeted and he found it funny, so he started following me. I was intrigued by his use of 313 in his username, so I followed back... then he put up a picture of him and his dog and I direct messaged him to tell him how cute I thought he was and here we are <3My motor runs a lover's heartbeat
It's just me and you
Put the pedal to the metal
Baby, turn the radio on
We can run to the far side of nowhere
We can run 'til the days are gone

I met him on AspieAffection.com, a dating/friendship site for people with Asperger's Syndrome(Autism). We were both looking to meet someone, he "winked" at me first and then we started messaging back and forth and that eventually lead to us forming deeper affections and falling in love and turning that friendship into a relationship once and for all almost a year after we started talking. We met in person 2 1/2 months after we started being officially in a relationship. Meeting him was so the best thing that ever happened to me!

We have met online.... in fact my story is very geeky.
I was playing a game online and out of boredom for no reason I have decided to re-activate that online game account.
As soon as I got into the game, there was a male character standing in front of me.
He sent me an invitation to his guild just like that, I usually refuse invitation from ppl I don't know.
But I don't know why, I accepted this one.
Then we talked a little bit and soon more and more.
I saw his picture and I was like ' HES SO HOT!'.
Then heard his voice and I melted.
I'm very happy and grateful I have met him♡ ~~~~ 'When you find something worth fighting for, you never give up' ~~~~ ♡

We met playing MapleStory, which is an MMORPG. I can't play when I'm up at school, but I usually play during my breaks when I go home. I had come home for the summer and had gotten active in my guild again, and he was friends with my guildmates. I ended up getting hacked towards the end of the summer, and he was there to support me the whole time.
