My SO and I met on a site called MyYearbook. They have a chat feature where you can talk to people online. We started talking on there and eventually ended up IMing. From there, we talked on the phone for about 4 months before we met in person. I also never thought I'd meet someone online, but it can work. I used to be reluctant to tell people how we met, but it doesnt bother me anymore. We are closing the distance in August and I couldnt be happier!

As soon as I read his profile, I knew he was something special, but because he is six years older than me, he would never find me on his own. So I messaged him. And he emailed me back. We'd been on the site for probably a little under a month before, one day, LoveL messaged me out of the blue offering some advice on how to deal with a particularly troublesome poster, and that led to about 70 emails within a matter of days. Emails led to texting, texting led to phone calls, phone calls led to Skyping, and a month to the day after we met online, we were in each other's arms. And the rest is history
