I am just thinking back to my ex... it used to annoy me how he said it like, RIGHT away before we had even been together a week. I don't think I ever *truly* IN love with him (we were more really close friends with physical intimacy) but he said it so much I kinda felt like I had to say it back. Like I didn't say it for a few months but it was kind of annoying how I felt like he was waiting with bated breath for me to say it. Took away the romance a bit!

Yeah, I don't understand such people either. I absolutely love hearing "I miss you" or "I love you". It warms my heart and brings a smile to my face. But I do agree that most people say it way too early into a relationship. My best friend... well, she chats with a guy for not even an hour and says "I'm so in love with him!" And that happened quite a few times already. I really don't understand it. What???

It's not so much the "I miss you", "I love you" that gets repetitive and boring...it's when the conversation becomes only those words.

One of our friends used to have like, 3 hour long phone conversations with his now-ex where basically all they'd say was "I miss you, I love you" and so on and so forth. It's tedious to listen to.

I don't mind just saying "hey I've missed you" if it's been a few days, and we always make sure to say "I love you" at the end of the conversation. But just don't let the conversation turn into the two of you saying only that.

If you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion...love actually is all around
