hi guys, i thought i'd share my update with you all since many of you lovely ladies have helped me out in the past!
and i would also love to hear where you guys are all at currently in your ldr's.
so last, i was at uni, dad disapproving relationship (mainly because of fear of me moving away to the states from the uk - he is really protective and emotional etc etc), SO in the military, chance of getting deployed to iraq within the year.
now: im still at uni, currently revising for exams next week (so stressed i'm breaking out like crazy lol). my dad still feels iffy about the whole ordeal, but me and my mum are working around him and i think he's slowly beginning to accept this whole situation. SO is now welcome to stay with me when he visits (i live at home still, im 20) whereas before, dad kinda freaked out about the whole thing. he's also OK with me going to america on my own to visit him one day.
current update on SO: last time he was undergoing a separation from the army. took 5 months. we found out recently they ended up losing his paper work. so he had to resubmit everything again. his paperwork was signed yesterday by his company commander, now it will take 2-4 weeks to be signed by the brigade commander, and once signed he has 10 days to leave base and go home (NY - where he is originally from). at which point, he will look at booking a vacation to come and see me
. i will also be free, no university commitments since i will have finished my exams in around 3 weeks.
fingers crossed everything stays on track. we've waited almost a year for this, every day is a challenge and things are starting to look up for us.
