    feeling disappointed !!!

Me and my boyfriend have been planning for months to close to tge distance. But everything just get messed up. I planned to move to his place but my college refused transfer. Now he was planning to move here, but we can't find any place near by that offers the course he wants. Its driving me nuts!! I keep thinking maybe it wil never work...maybe it will be like this throughout our life....

It always sucks when the bad news just won't stop, I'm really sorry to hear it! However, as much as it looks that way, that really doesn't mean it will always be that way. How long are you gonna study for, both of you? At the very latest, one of you can still look for a job in the other's city when university is done and finished. Look into your options, and remember that "not now" doesn't mean "never". I wish you the best!

Have either of you considered online college? I did it for two years and now I'm thinking of going back to it so that I have the ability to visit my SO during school. It is not for everyone by a long shot but some majors can be learned just as easily online as in a classroom.

I'm not sure how it works in your country, but here in America we just apply to it like regular college and to all of the coursework online and homework online. You don't even have to visit the college. The online college I was eenrolled in was over 2000 miles away and I did everything on my computer.

I would try googling it and see what options are available for your country (tuition, majors, requirements). Like I said, definitely not for everyone however given the right motivation, it could work out.

If there is no online college available, at least in my country you sometimes have the option of "privatist" studies, which means that you have none or very few meetings at the campus, study by yourself and just turn up for the exam. So basically you can live anywhere in the world as long as you can afford and manage to turn up for the exam, and of course get the books and other material on your own accord (but still, maximum two trips to the campus per semester). Just be sure to research that all the exams are done at once though(SO takes a sort of privatist course in Turkey too, but he has his exams twice or three times a semester, which is less suited if you live somewhere else with long travel time. He just lives 1 hour from the school). It can be done if you have the dicipline for it and keep a steady eye on all the practical information.

Talk to a student councelour in your country, they will be able to better advice you on your options as a student.

I made love to him only twice, she thought and looked at the man laying asleep beside her. And yet still it is as if we have been together forever, as if he has always known my life, my soul, my body, my light, my pain

I definitely agree with DC and Doug. It's starting to become more popular now because it gives people better opportunities to go to college who normally can't because of family, disabilities, work, etc. My school is a little late to the game and only offers a few online courses, as well as "hybrid" courses (you don't go to class as often and half the work is online).

I guess another potential option would for you both to uproot and change colleges, I don't know where you are in your relationship with him but considering you are trying to close the difference it is possible for you two to find a college somewhere else that offers degrees in both of your majors and you can start your lives together that way....

There quite a few potential problems this could have though so don't take this option lightly.

It's not unusual for people to attend different colleges/universities during their relationship. Once college is done, then you can focus more on closing the distance and finding jobs that are in the same are. Right now, focus on your studies and worry about closing the distance one you are done school.

I'm confused as to how your college is not allowing/refusing your transfer? They technically can not do this. The college your looking at transfering to can accept or decline you and that scho can refuse to accept some of your credits completed at the first school of they feel it doesn't fit their degree requirements. That sometimes happens and ends up meaning you have to take a course or two over. However, they typically will not refuse to accept all of your course work. So guess I'm a little confused how your school is refusing to allow you to transfer?

There are some colleges that won't let you transfer in. You are required to attend all 4 years there or you can not attend at all. It's also possible there is no room left in the classes he needs.

I tried explaining to him about online courses and stuff...he just said it won't work.
I don't know if i should say this as a new thread or just say it here.
My boyfriend was studying engineering...he had many papers he didn't pass so now he is trying to pass then so that he can get the degree. There is 6 months gap before he can give his next exam so i was hoping he would find a course in the time. But he keeps telling me he hasn't found the right course and he isn't sure what he wants. I keep giving him course ideas that might suit him...but he keeps rejecting them saying its too tough to get in or something. I would have given him more space and allowed him to figure it out but we don't have time. My parents had given me an ultimatum of 2 years before which he has to have a job or atleast look like he is going towards a stable career or else they won't consider the proposal. And 1 year is almost up. I tell him this and he is like i know that is why im trying...or else he just gets angry. Help me!!! How do i get my guy to find something he likes??? Or atleast have an aim???
