      It looks like he is only 20 miles from Winston-Salem and they have a Greyhound bus station there. Greyhound goes to Wilson. I did just a quick search (9/11-9/13) and the web fare was $70.50. So there are options and it's definitely doable. You may have to save up but it's not impossible.
