Update.
Hello guys, sorry for not being around lately.
So i was all ready to back off from him and got myself busier so that i could distract myself from all the thoughts about him.
He still texting me and talking to me here and there, except i didn't really take it all too deep anymore.
But he called me few days ago, out of the blue.
With his serious tone, told me about his busy work and stuff, but then he also told me that he has gotten his license back and he just applied for the passport, finally.
He applied for the expedited one, and yes because it's a peak holiday season, so instead of getting it in a week, he gotta wait for 2 weeks.
I still can't believe it, actually.
And still thinking is it really not a joke.
I know that he always insists me that he is all serious and not fooling me around.
So yeah, thats the update so far.
Maybe just see what will happens in the next 2 weeks then, i still need to see the real passport there on his hands first before i really ready to take it really seriously. And really set things up here for the visit.
Thanks for all the replies guys! It helps me up a lotLast edited by glasspaper; November 2, 2015, 01:57 AM.

It is all fine and well that he has applied for the passport. But november 21st is less than three weeks away. If he gets the passport in two weeks, that is just one week to get time off from work and order plane tickets and hotel. If he plans to buy tickets only one week prior, he risk getting none or very pricy tickets. I'd say it will be best to set up another tentative date for his visit.I made love to him only twice, she thought and looked at the man laying asleep beside her. And yet still it is as if we have been together forever, as if he has always known my life, my soul, my body, my light, my pain

Why would she do that to herself yet again.... If you read the thread, this is his last chance as he has done this twice before. No way she should set herself up for a fourth let down.
That he could get an expedited passport now? Especially with his license issues at minimum, highly doubtful now in the US as we are starting holiday season.
OP. If he doesn't come through yet again, it's time to let it go. As everyone has been saying,he is stringing you along and hurting you.

Honestly, I'd want picture proof. Show me the license. Show me the receipt for the passport application. It's not that hard to take a picture of both of those and send them....To those who dream, nothing is ever far away.

Yes, i know it's impossible for him to really get that passport asap and come over here at the exact date that we've set before. It's peak season now, and yes they might be would check more things regarding his DUI issue he had.
If it really happens, then it would be in december for the earliest, maybe.
He explained of why did things take longer to get the lisence and passport application done, the work issue and paycheck delay stuff caused it. That's what i heard from him.
I'm still kinda standing outside the fence, and watching his steps right now.
I won't do anything here till i really really can see the actual passport and tickets and accomodation bookings first.
Oh and yes, i'll ask him to send me some pictures of the lisence and the receipt. I'll update it when i get any replies.
Thank you guysLast edited by glasspaper; November 2, 2015, 09:08 AM.

And also, just because he has a passport, doesn't mean he's coming.
There is no way my SO would even think of planning a visit in December as the weather in Illinois can be so harsh at that time of year, the chances of being snowed in or flights being cancelled because of bad weather is way too high.
I really feel for OP, it seems she's really being messed about. Please please please have some love for yourself, make this his last chance... Make that VERY clear to him. No excuses!!!

Granted sometimes when a couple has to find the right dates that work for each other....it can take a while. But three years seems like some serious procrastination, and with a trip coming up that fast he definitely wont have enough time to process a passport application, and or a visa application unless he does very soon, and pays extra for expedited service. Countries with the visa on arrival are great but if he has to apply for a regular tourist visa it can take a long time.
