    Oh man, need some help please

    Well i have found myself in a lil bit of a situation. Me and my SO kelsey have been talking for some time now feb 7th will be 17 months. I went there Dec29 09 - Jan 3 10, so ill cut right to the chase here. First part of December she had her period. Then Dec 29th the day i left she had started her period again, that was the last text i got from her before i had to take off and turn off my phone. So we had sex jan 2nd late at night, last day of her period, i know nothing about the menstrual cycle all i know is they come they go last for a week or so and come once a month. So today will be the 31st day of not having a period. She wasnt on birth control and i wore of condom and didnt break or anything. We have just been really stressing about her not having her period, if anyone could i dont know help out by telling me some facts cause i am just so worried and blehhh

    Thanks =/

    oh my... I've always been irregular. Anything can sway it.. especially stress! Girls tend to stress out when they are a day or two late (especially if they are normally very regular)... and this added stress can actually cause your period to become even more delayed!!

    Diet, exercise, change in medication and of course pregnancy can cause the delay. If you both are really worried, pick up a cheap pregnancy test. I don't think it's a waste of money when it can easy your mind.
    Just be glad we made it here alive

      I agree with fcbella... grab a pregnancy test and be pretty sure of what is or is not the issue. Odds are it is just stress making her late, assuming she took her medication correctly (if that's a possible issue). better to know and not stress, right?

        Ya and we talked about that cause she has been stressed with some personal issue from me and just school and stuff, we are gonna talk in a few hours about all this so i will def let her know about this.

          Yes, I wouldn't worry too much if you used protection. Considering the timing of her cycle and the fact that you used protection, her period is probably just late. And worrying about it starting combined with other stress can really delay it. By now, if she were pregnant, it should show up on a test. So it might be a good idea for her to take one just to put her mind at ease.

                    I'm not too sure mate but fairly accurate I would assume, +95% maybe?, I think one of the girls might know. It might say on the packaging.

                      If her period is already late, it should be very accurate. Since you used backup birth control (the condom) you guys should be fine. Make sure she uses first mornings urine, as it wont be diluted and she will get a more accurate reading.

                          A lot of it depends on how far along the pregnancy is. If she is pregnant (I don't really think she is), then it would be far enough along that the test should be pretty accurate. If it comes up as positive, then it's pretty certain that she's pregnant. If it comes up as negative, it's not so certain (you can have a negative result and still be pregnant) but I would tell her that she can assume she's not pregnant. If she still doesn't have her period in another week, she should probably take another test or go to the doctor- they'll be able to tell her for sure.

                          Edit: Oh! It seems she got the result. Like I said, just recommend that she not worry and wait another week to take another one if her period hasn't shown up yet. It really doesnt' seem like she is, which sounds like good news considering your current situation!

                              You need to know this. No period is perfectly regular. Unless she's on birth control or a freak of nature (this is me being nice, don't worry :P), she's probably going to have some variation. Stress, diet, and other random variables can delay a period. Her chances of being pregnant are low, but if she's going to be having sex, she should start some form of birth control.

                              Pregnancy tests are about 99% accurate. Don't have her drink like 10 gallons of water before taking the test, it could result in a false negative due to diluted urine. Don't read the results of a test after 10 minutes, that can give a false positive due to concentrated urine. If you need to know anymore on pregnancy tests, I'm here. I've taken enough XP.
