Keep busy and don't sit around waiting. Do stuff for yourself, like going out with friends and hobbies. Also, you can plan visits and trip together so that you have stuff to look forward to. We were apart for over 5 years and I'd lie if I said it wasn't incredibly hard but it was totally worth it. We are together now and that's all that matters.
