    Be positive. trust your partner until they give you a reason not to. be honest with each other.

    BE POSITIVE! this will NOT LAST FOREVER!! if your relationship is meant to be, it will be, and that means it won't always be an LDR.

    TRUST YOUR PARTNER! I've had to remind even myself of this a lot. it's hard not to wonder what they're doing when you're so far away, but until they actually DO something to cause you not to trust them, then trust them!

    BE HONEST! why should your partner trust YOU if you're not being honest? if you muff up, say so. admit to your mistakes.

    to put it simply, it's kinda like this:
    Love = Trust
    Trust = honesty + positivity

      Be in a relationship.

      Say compliments, I love you-s, send nice text messages as usual. Don't be just romantic, spice up your love life from time to time. Don't let you LDR become a friendship.

        Saying Goodbye: Everybody on here agrees that the worst part of any visit with your SO is the last couple of minutes before you/they leave. Trust us...you will cry a lot.

        Just remember that even though you're saying goodbye, it is one day closer to the next time you will see them!

          Stay calm.

          That probably applies to a lot of what's already said, but I find that it can be a struggle for me sometimes. I get to thinking about how all the things that I'll be doing in the future... and my love won't be there to share them. Or I start to go into worst-case-scenario mode and wonder about what would happen if he meets someone else, if he gets hurt, if he stays longer than planned, I'm too crazy to be loved by this amazing person, etc. It's easy to go into that panic feeling when your SO isn't there to reassure you otherwise, especially if you're unable to talk to them in the near future.
          But hold on. Every day you go is another day closer to being with them for good. Look forward to the times you've had with them, the times you get to communicate now, and the time to come when you won't ever have to say goodbye again!

            Know Your "Worth"
            Don't forget you have a life outside your LDR, spend time with family and friends don't think you always have to be stuck in the house all day waiting for your bf/gf to call you. Also just because you are far away from your SO doesn't mean you have to do whatever you can to please them, even if that means doing things you wouldn't normally do or even doing things you aren't comfortable with but doing it just to make your SO happy. Be true to yourself and don't forget your values, morals, and etc you started off with before you went into a LDR.

              Goals Always have something you are working towards. Be it next visit, next phone call, next letter whatever you choose. Living with no goals or no end in sight, in an LDR, feels endless and makes it harder to keep going together with Resilience Don't let set backs or unfulfilled expectations get you down. Allow yourself a little time to feel sad then get back up and move on and make new plans and goals.

                Involve them in your life. They are not just someone on the other side of the phone/internet/world, they are your significant other - a big part of your life - so involve them in it!

                  Make 3 completely honest lists, when you are in a good, happy, peaceful mood. List 1) list all the things you love to do, things you did before your LDR, things you did alone or with friends and family. (bbq's with your brother, babysitting your nieces, reading Dean Koontz, ect.) List 2) list all the reasons you love your SO, how they make you a better person, why your heart melts for them. List 3) list all the reasons YOU are a special person, why do you love you, and why do they love you.

                  When you're having a bad day...(as everyone does) take out list 1, put your bad day on hold, and do something from the list, also check to make sure you've been doing the things on the list regularly. Sometimes that is the reason for your bad day.

                  If your bad day still isn't over...take out list 2 and remind yourself why you are the luckiest person on the earth, what bright a future you have to look forward too.

                  If you are having a really bad... I can't do this anymore... kind of day.. take out list 3 and remind yourself why you CAN do this and then read list 2 as well to remind you why you ARE doing this. Honesty, trust, faith, and being yourself, and the lists.

                  Everything I know, and anywhere I go, It gets hard but it won't take away my love,
                  And when the last one falls, when it's all said and done, It gets hard but it won't take away my love

                    I like that list idea!

                    But I just like lists in general cause I'm a planner and not very spontaneous
